The apparatus shall consist of the following components assembled as given
Funnel
Two-way cock
50-ml flask
Leveling bottle
Condenser tube
Water jacket
Compensator tube
Gas burette
Manometer
Sodium hydroxide bubbler
Valv and
Three-way cocks
The compensator tube is used to correct automatically for the changes in barometric pressure and temperature by balancing the pressure in the burette against that in the compensator tube.
The manometer is used when balancing the pressure in the burette against that in the compensator tube.
