Pore size
In specific experiments, appropriate pore size membrane filters should be selected based on your filtration purpose and experimental needs.
0.8 μm and above: can filter impurities of larger particles or difficult to treat or turbid samples for pre-treatment, and then select the corresponding membrane filters for filtration after pre-treatment.
0.22 μm: It can remove 99.99% of bacteria and microorganisms, meet the sterilization requirements of GMP or pharmacopoeia, and can also remove extremely fine particles in samples and mobile phases.
0.1 μm: Able to remove Mycoplasma from the sample.
0.45μm: It can filter out most bacteria and microorganisms, and can meet the general chromatographic requirements for conventional samples with equal flow.
This membrane filters is generally used as a terminal filtration membrane. If there are many impurities in the solution, it is recommended to use a large-diameter filter material for pre filtration first to avoid frequent blockage of the membrane filters.
This membrane filters generally has a pressure resistance of 0-0.2Mpa, and there may be some wrinkles on the membrane surface, which is a normal phenomenon.
This microporous filter membrane should be stored in a cool place, and it is not recommended to store it for too long (such as more than a year) to avoid oxidation and contact with open flames.
This membrane filters is suitable for solutions with a pH of 5-9 and is not suitable for filtering organic solvents and strong acid-base solutions. If you need to filter organic solvents and corrosive solutions, please use our company's organic series microporous membrane filters.
Usage
(1) This microporous filter membrane is recommended to place the membrane filters flat in a clean container before use, soak it in distilled water at around 40?, and let it soak for more than 4 hours. Before use, soak it again with an appropriate amount of warm distilled water.
(2) If the usage requirements are not particularly high, the above steps can be omitted, but it will have an impact on the filtration speed and the flexibility of the membrane filters, because the water based cellulose membrane after soaking treatment will have better flexibility, not easy to break, and the flow rate will also be faster.
(3) After the above steps, the cleaned membrane filters (wet) can be loaded into a suitable filter to prevent surrounding leakage, and the filtration operation can be carried out. Due to the fine pore size of the mixed fiber membrane, the flow rate of atmospheric filtration is slower. Vacuum pump negative pressure filtration or air pump pressure filtration can be used. When the pressure gauge rapidly rises to 0.4-0.6 Ma, it is recommended to stop working and replace the membrane filters.
