Roller compaction is the laboratory method that most closely simulates on-site compaction. Asphalt slab roller compactor is used to produce sample slabs of asphaltic paving mixtures with properties that most closely simulate those of materials on site. The sample slab can be used to evaluate the physico-mechanical properties of the asphaltic mixtures, such as high-temperature strength and stability.
